CaringWay

What is a CaringWay unit? CaringWay units have been created exclusively for customers who are at certain stages of Alzheimer’s and related dementias. 

Customers who are referred to the unit must meet certain admission criteria which ensures appropriate placement and that the individualized special needs of the customers are met.  The interdiciplinary team meet to evaluate customers on admission and quarterly, with additional evaluations if a behavior change occurs. 

The entire environment has been geared specifically to provide a level of care that attains and/or maintains the highest level of functioning for as long as possible in a safe and dignified environment.  The staff have been provided education on how to best meet the particular needs of customers living with Alzheimer's.  

At Opis centers that have CaringWay units, we encourage family/legal representatives of potential customers to visit our units prior to their loved ones admission.  Our Family and Resident Council provide education and support to familiy and friends so they can cope more effectively with the issues surrounding customers with Alzhiemers and related dementia.  We want to be here to help you during what may be a troubling adjustment period for your family.
