Mary Huss

Vice President of Operations

As Vice President of Operations, Mary Huss is responsible for overseeing operations in all of the nursing centers managed by Opis. In her role, Mary supervises each nursing centers Administrator and ensures that all aspects of the operations are carried out in accordance with budgets, Opis policies and procedures and state and federal regulations. In addition, she conducts regular site visits and provides personnel management, problem resolution, financial planning and budgeting, and site/plant and safety assessments.

Mary had worked at Genesis in Florida for over eight years. Since 1999, Mary has worked as Regional Director and Vice President of Operations for OPIS, MR and Genesis’ Florida operations. Prior to that she worked as a Senior and Executive Administrator in Pinellas County for Genesis ElderCare and Health Maintenance Organization.

Mary is responsible for the operations of ten nursing centers with 1415 beds, plus one assisted living center, located in central and north Florida. Under Mary’s leadership, the operating results and customer satisfaction levels at all of these centers have significantly improved.  Additionally 3 of 10 nursing centers have been awarded the Governor's Gold Seal of Excellence.

Mary graduated in 1990 from the University of South Florida with a B.S. in Gerontology. She has been a licensed nursing home administrator since 1990. She is a member of the Florida Health Care Association.
