Marilyn G. Wood, R.N.

President and Chief Executive Officer

As President and Chief Executive Officer, Marilyn Wood is responsible for overseeing and directing all aspects of the operations under management by Opis. Marilyn has over 40 years of experience in eight states, including over 24 years in Florida, working in the nursing home industry in various roles with increasingly higher levels of responsibility. She has worked as a floor nurse, Director of Nursing, Center Administrator and Senior Vice President on Operations. She was promoted to President in charge of Operations for Genesis in their southern region (principally Florida) until forming Opis Management Resources in May 2003.  Marilyn's high EI has place her in the forefront as one of the countries leading nursing home executives.

As an active member of the Florida Healthcare Association, Marilyn chaired the Quality Credentialing Committee and was responsible for drafting the original Quality Credentialing Program initiated in the FHCA organization in February 2001. This program was implemented as an essential component of membership in Florida Health Care Association to demonstrate each center’s commitment in maintaining accountability for services provided to the elderly residing in long term care centers.

Marilyn graduated from High Point School of Nursing, receiving a diploma in Nursing and achieving a Registered Nurse license in 1971. She received her Nursing Home Administrator license in 1979 and has been a practicing Administrator throughout her career path.
